I'm puzzled

Hey thibault,

puzzles are a nice idea, but it's extremely frustrating to "fail" a puzzle when I make a winning move ... it's more about guessing which way was intended, not what may be good.

I don't have any better idea at the moment, but just wanted to give you this feedback.
There's usually much more than one solution to each puzzle, you just can't see them all. As I've described in the past:
-In mate in N puzzles:
-Solutions that get mate in N are also correct
-Solutions that get mate in N+1 or N+2 are 'good moves' but you will be asked to make a different move to advance in the puzzle.

-In material puzzles:
-Solutions that are within 5% of the top move's centi-pawn advantage are also correct.
-Solutions that are within 10% of the top move's centi-pawn advantage are 'good moves' but you will be asked to make a different move to progress in the puzzle.

You should try playing a solution that you think is right against the lvl 8 AI to see if it's equally as successful as the proposed solution by the computer. If it is, you should report the puzzle to have it disabled.

After 1.Rh8+ Kg7 2.Rh7+ Kg8 3.Qh3 d6xe5 4.Rh8+ Kg7 5.Qh6+ Kf6 the move 6.f4xe5+ was rejected with "puzzle failed". Of course, 6.f4xe5+ is stupid, but belongs to 'N+1'-class yet. There are quite many examples for this. Thanks.
Because there is a mate in 1, if it is mate in 1 only a mate in 1 is correct.
Shamanics: yes, it's clear, but my point of view that this additional constraint is unnatural.
How are the point scores calculated? It seems to me that if you get the first 6 moves correct but miss the mate in one on the 7th in favor of a mate in 2, you shouldn't be penalized 16 points.
I'm waking this thread because thy puzzlez be so fucking stupeth... damn I'm a 2100+ player in RL and jerking around 1700 in puzzles because I try 3 different winning moves, and all are "wrong" as the inventor meant the 4th. This sucks :D

That's just as feedback, that is what this forum is for.
No one paid any attention to what I said once: Separate "mate in x moves" puzzles from "find the winning move" problems. I hate puzzles where I have to find a mate in two but it`s easy to see 18 mates in 3, 4 or 5 moves, like one simple Q + K x K that I got recently . They are two different things, puzzles and problems. Those who like only tactical problems and not "mate in x moves puzzles" would not have to see these puzzles anymore. I even know some high level masters that hate puzzles too. Just create two different links: One for puzzles training and another for problems training.
I don't know why so many of you complain about the puzzles.
It's a training to find the BEST move.
I know that these position are often won anyway but in a real match it's sometimes not that clear. It's like GM Ronen Har-Zvi often says. It's not about to find a good move, it's about to find the best move!
