New Kind of Chess-War Chess

Hello guys! Yesterday suddenly an idea came into my head out of nowhere about a new chess variant. War chess. Like real wars, we can arrange our pieces as we want. Pawns up in the front. It's a bit like 960 but we do it at our wish. Strong and major pieces would require more hits to be captured. Example, queen takes 3 hits or whatever. Tell me if it's good.

Sounds interesting, but unbalanced. Pawns would be worthless for defensive purposes as they are in the standard game, they'd just become meat shields that you throw at the pieces to weaken them for other pieces to remove. All in all, eventually I think very specific set-ups and strategies would turn out to be easily winning and dominate such a variant. Doesn't hurt to try to come up with rules and test it with people though. :)
