this is a cool blog! it's an excellent local initiative, it's friendly, interesting, Lisbon is an interesting city with a long tradition of chess games. Besides, do you know that during the 17-18 and 19th century, the rare "popular" place of chess was the café, originally the goal was to provide entertainment for intellectuals, bourgeois and noble (because until the early 19th the cofee was expensive), but many people from all over society started playing chess. in the 18th century, during the Enlightenment period, many philosophers came to drink coffee, discuss and play chess. it's a good thing that we find this thing with conviviality of chess, and accessible to everyone!

People who live not too far from the cafe are very lucky to have such a cafe. In many big cities where you'd think there would be people playing chess at cafes you won't anybody playing chess. Here in San Francisco we have some cafes where people can rent and play board games, or bring their own. But at those people usually play Magic cards or other authored games.
