Speed Running Chess

SPEED RUNNING CHESS??? What's that about? I cover the term "Speed running chess" in this blog post.

The definition of "speed running" is to achieve a certain goal by completing a certain challenge. There are a lot of speed running games today. I would say the most popular one is Minecraft. Now, since we know what speed running means... What if we speed run chess?

One of the most famous chess speed runner is also a streamer, his name is GM Hikaru Nakamura (His youtube link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCweCc7bSMX5J4jEH7HFImng). I covered him in the Bongcloud blog: https://lichess.org/@/Abhineet2011/blog/the-bongcloud-in-a-nutshell/U580U5qH.

I believe the Bongcloud king has done 3 speed run's. They are "Bongcloud speed run, Gambit's only speed run and The Bullet Matrix". The goal was to hit the 3000 rating without losing a game. We all know it is nearly impossible to get to the 3000 rating without a single loss, but Hikaru was very VERY close to getting 0 losses in the Bullet Matrix.

This is a pretty short blog arguably.. There is one last thing I would like to say.. I am doing a chess.com speed run of bullet, to see how far I can reach. I can obviously not reach 3000 because I am not as skilled as a super GM. My channel link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCj-rhO7swQmarAmfNUEPj2g/videos. Thank's for reading, and hope you have a good day!
