I'm not so sure if i like the -10 sec for a miss. I guess that you should put a "pass" button somewhere, if you just have no idea, so you can get to the next one maybe?

Great stuff. I have, however, already seen a puzzle twice. I solve a lot of Lichess puzzles with my club and students.

Not as rare as one might think.

The number of puzzles one would have to have seen to make the probability >= 50% of getting a repeat in one million puzzles can be calculated using the formula for n(d) here:

I calculated n(1000000) = 777, using the formula on that page that is known to work for d <= 10^18.

also about 50% of the puzzles in the "attack to f2/f7" category are Legal's mates that are very easy to solve yet somehow have 1800 rating
