While a lot of the codebase is in Scala, you can still contribute in other ways! There are multiple issues tagged that do not require Scala knowledge:

I recall that there was some Video of some tall guy explaining what to run in which order.
I also rememberl that Thibault fixed some discovery reported by me in one day - even though it was first of January of some year :) (regarding strange position number (???) in a case of standard game in chess960)
