impossible Morphy was not 3975 or 4975 his true rating was infinite cause he was and still is the True King of Chess :)

His rating isn't very well known but what I know is that he crushed everyone he played with minimal effort despite being completely self taught. Add on top of that, the quality of his games, how well he played from such an early age and the fact he was regarded as lazy, all really make him stand out from the rest. No one can match his natural prowess at the game and I can only imagine what this chess genius would've done with the resources that Fischer had.
